From June 2005 to early 2017 I was an active member of another travel website, Virtual Tourist. When the site closed in February 2017 I had contributed 4,340 reviews which covered 261 destinations in 35 countries. I had uploaded 15,314 photos, and my pages had been viewed 849,092 times.

While there are plans underway to transfer those reviews to TravellersPoint I want to use this blog to recreate some of my favourite Virtual Tourist pages in a new format. The criteria for choosing these "favourites" include how much I enjoyed the trip described, how much I enjoyed writing about it, and my own subjective judgement of my photos and texts!
